The world has made huge strides against polio, with cases down 99.9% since 1988—but the last stretch is the toughest. That’s where you come in.  

 The Team End Polio movement challenge is designed to unite communities in Canada—and around the world—through physical activity while driving awareness and action to achieve a polio-free future for all. 

From 24 September – 24 October, Team End Polio is inviting people to Strava to contribute towards a collective 60 million minutes of movement dedicated to ending polio.   

Health workers travel extraordinary distances to vaccinate 400 million children against polio every year. Match their drive with your ownEvery minute you move on Strava is a minute in solidarity with the health workers who never stop. 

The challenge is designed to be inclusive and accessible, inviting people of all abilities to take part, whether it’s running, cycling, swimming, wheelchair biking, or any activity that motivates them.  

As with any challenge, we’re stronger as a team. Let’s move together to protect all children against polio. 

Joining is simple: 

1. Download Strava.

Get the free app from the app store and create your free account. 

2. Join the challenge.

Starting on 24 September. 

3. Move your way.

Run, cycle, swim, roll, or do whatever gets you moving. Save your activity in Strava, and it counts toward our global goal. 

4. Share the challenge. 

Invite friends to join — on WhatsApp, social media, or in personCheck out the social media toolkit below. 

Multiply your impact with a fundraiser for Rotary’s PolioPlus Fund. All donations go to reaching children in need with polio vaccines.   

  1. Visit the Team End Polio Canada Raise for Rotary team page. Coming soon!

     

  2. Select “Start your fundraiser” and choose “PolioPlus Fund (with Strava).” 

     

  3. Create your Raise for Rotary account. Rotary members: use your Rotary business email, or sign in if you already have an account, and add your club information—otherwise select “None” from the dropdown menu when asked about your club. 

     

  4. Add a fundraiser title that includes “Team End Polio,” set your goal, and set your end date to 24 October. 

     

  5. Share your fundraiser with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues, and turn your network into polio eradication supporters.  

 

Prefer to fundraise without joining a Team End Polio page? Visit raise.rotary.org, select “Start your fundraiser,” choose “PolioPlus Fund (with Strava),” and follow steps 3–5 above.

From 24 April – 24 May, Rise Together is inviting people to Strava to take part and contribute towards the collective goal of completing 40 million minutes of movement: for the 20 million people able to walk today that to efforts against polio and the 20 million health workers and volunteers dedicated to ending polio.
