350,000 children were paralyzed by polio every year before 1988

20 million children are walking today who would have otherwise been paralyzed

Only 2 countries remain endemic with wild polio in 2025

The GPEI reaches 370 million children with polio vaccines each year

We have the tools and know-how to end polio for good, but if we don’t get the financial and political support needed, polio could quickly make a global comeback, paralyzing many thousands of children again and costing the world billions more. Governments and health workers, with support from the GPEI, can end polio, but we need your help to finish the job.

Join in and raise your voice in support of polio eradication to tell donors, polio-affected country governments and other global partners that eradication is possible and urgently needed now.

Rise Together: A movement challenge only on Strava

From 24 April – 24 May, Rise Together is inviting people to Strava to take part and contribute towards the collective goal of completing 40 million minutes of movement: for the 20 million people able to walk today that to efforts against polio and the 20 million health workers and volunteers dedicated to ending polio.
